The following images are from the book "King's Empire" published in 2 volumes the early 1900s. The photographs were taken at the height of the British Empire. The books are available in higher resolution for download as PDF ebooks at www.ozebook.com

DEPARTURE OF THE R.M.S. CAMPANIA FROM LIVERPOOL LANDING -STAG E. The Campania plies backwards and forwards across 3,000 miles of ocean with the regularity of a ferry-boat. The Cunard Company has every right to be proud of its magnificent ship. Built on the Clyde in 5892, she has fulfilled in every respect the expectations of her designers, and is able to maintain a continuous sea speed of from 21 50 22 knots per hour throughout the whole of her journey. The " Blue Peter" at the masthead indicates that the ship is about to leave her berth at the Landing-Stage. The Campania is 620 feet in length, 6f feet beam, with a draught of 23 feet, a tonnage of 12,950 and develops 30,000 indicated horse-power. (Page 16.)
